MARTIN VARSAVSKY: el problema de la crisis económica en España es en realidad un problema de comprensión de cómo se crea la riqueza:
In Spain it is more common to complain about what others are doing poorly than a focus on a “what can I do to help” that is needed to restart the economy. Most Spaniards suffer from a serious case of envy of others who are better off and thus have a false understanding of the economy that is clouded by this envy. Instead of realizing that a shrinking GDP makes everyone worse off, they think that if they are doing worse is because somebody else “stole” what they have, that if they are doing worse then somebody else has what they had and are doing better. As a result, Spaniards are constantly looking for the few people who maybe doing better and crucifying them. They are convinced that either foreigners or rich Spaniards ended up with what they used to have and don’t understand that Spain is basically not working as an economy and that is why everyone on the average is poorer. Spaniards in general, have a lack understanding of entrepreneurship, of innovation, of wealth creation.
Aunque en esto, desgraciadamente, otros países se van pareciendo más a España y no al revés. Incluso en Estados Unidos, con la retórica del 1%.
