LAS ARMAS DE DESTRUCCIÓN MASIVA de Iraq están en Siria, hacia donde fueron en dos aviones de pasajeros Boeing de Iraq Airways a los que se desmontaron los asientos y que hicieron 56 viajes durante los meses previos al inicio de la guerra mientras se discutían resoluciones de la ONU, todo ello bajo la tapadera de falsos vuelos de ayuda humanitaria. No es la primera vez que aparece una información similar, pero en este caso lo relevante es quién la proporciona. Nada menos que el general George Sada, el segundo oficial de mayor rango en la fuera aérea del Iraq de Saddam:

"There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands," Mr. Sada said. "I am confident they were taken over."

ACTUALIZACIÓN. Right Wing Nuthouse tiene muchísimo más sobre los antecedentes que indican que la información es plausible (incluyendo unas grabaciones que se van a hacer públicas el mes que viene), aunque alerta que Sada está proporcionando una evidencia indirecta difícil de probar. In From The Cold, el blog de un ex-analista de la CIA, también resalta esto último, aunque por el conocimiento previo que tiene de los personajes implicados opina que es extraordinariamente verosímil.

En caso de que se confirme, no sé si servirá de mucho para cambiar lo que los impermeables tienen grabado a fuego en sus cocorotas, pero habrá que seguir de cerca este asunto de todos modos.
